Tulsa cattle sales report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,035 head April 22, compared to 2,363 last week and 2,543 last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 lower. Calves sold mixed, with steers steady to $3 higher and heifers steady to $3 lower. Steer and heifer calves weighing over 500 pounds traded $5 lower. Supply included 23 percent over 600 pounds and 49 percent heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady. A total of 281 cows and bulls sold with with 85 percent going to packers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield Grade 1 to 2, 18 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 94.00 to 99.00; high dressing, 100.00 to 105.00; low dressing, 84.00 to 93.00.
