OKC West sheep and goat auction report

The OKC West Sheep and Goat Auction, El Reno, Okla., reported receipts of 1,244 head April 17, compared to last sale 1,029 head, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to the last sale two weeks ago, slaughter lambs were $2 to $3 higher. Slaughter ewes were $2 to $4 higher. Feeder lambs were steady to $2 higher. Slaughter kids were $5 to $10 higher in a limited test. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. The supply included 17% goats, 83% sheep. All classes sold by the CWT.

Slaughter goats: Selection 1, 40 to 50 lbs., 190.00 to 220.00; 50 to 60 lbs., 180.00 to 205.00; 65 lbs., 190.00 to 200.00. Selection 2, 40 to 50 lbs., 167.00 to 187.00; 60 to 70 lbs., 160.00 to 175.00. Selection 3, 30 to 35 lbs., 139.00 to 140.00; 60 to 65 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00.

Slaughter nannies: Selection 1, 100 to 125 lbs., 87.00 to 112.00; 135 to 200 lbs., 62.00 to 92.00. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 85.00 to 102.00; 90 to 125 lbs., 62.00 to 90.00. Selection 3, 65 to 80 lbs., 55.00 to 76.00.

Slaughter whethers: Selection 1, 85 to 140 lbs., 139.00 to 157.00.

Replacement nannies: Selection 1, 125 to 160 lbs., 97.00 to 116.00.

Slaughter lambs: Choice Yield grade 2 to 3, Wooled and Shorn: Hair sheep 60 to 75 lbs., 124.00 to 141.00; 65 to 80 lbs., 132.00 to 139.00; 100 to 150 lbs., 91.00 to 117.00; 150 to 200 lbs., 85.00 to 106.00. Good Yield grade 1 to 3, Hair Sheep 70 lbs., 105.00; 90 lbs., 56.00

Slaughter ewes: Good yield grade 2 to 3, Hair Sheep 75 to 150 lbs., 68.00 to 81.00; 70 to 155 lbs., 54.00 to 76.00; Fleshy 125 to 150 lbs., 38.00 to 42.00; 160 to 205 lbs., 40.00 to 59.00. Utility and Cull, Yield grade 1 to 3, Hair Sheep 60 to 140 lbs., 45.00 to 64.00; 75 to 150 lbs., 36.00 to 59.00.

Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1, 50 to 100 lbs., 125.00 to 149.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 22, 70 to 90 lbs., 116.00 to 129.00. Medium and large frame 2, 80 lbs., 110.00. Small and medium frame 1, Hair Sheep 40 to 60 lbs., 138.00 to 148.00.
