Tulsa cattle sales report


The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,363 head April 15, compared to 2,330 head last week and 1,439 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $4 lower. Steer and heifer calves were $3 to $10 lower, most were $3 to $6 lower and light weight cattle had the most declines. The supply included 14% over 600 pounds and 44% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls steady. A total of 227 cows and bulls sold with 90% going to packer.

Light, 55 head, 80 to 90% lean, 750 to 1000 lbs., 66.00 to 70.00; high dressing, 71.00 to 74.00; low dressing, 60.00 to 64.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 22 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 94.00 to 99.00; high dressing, 100.00 to 105.00; low dressing, 84.00 to 93.00.
