San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 858 head April 11, compared to 386 head last week and 644 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were $2 to $4 lower. Slaughter cows were steady, no recent comparison on slaughter bulls. Stock cows and pairs were steady. Trading and demand was moderate. The supply included 15% slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, 73% feeders, 10% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 25% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 218.00 to 258.00; 518 lbs., 166.00; 625 lbs., 152.00; 728 lbs., 138.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 178.00 to 180.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 152.00 to 161.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 138.00 to 146.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 130.00 to 136.00. Medium and large frame 2 300 to 400 lbs., 164.00 to 178.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 160.00 to 175.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 139.00 to 151.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 123.00 to 137.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 120.00 to 128.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 533 lbs., 125.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 110.00 to 119.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 106.00 to 118.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1 560 lbs., 151.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 120.00 to 124.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 255 lbs., 190.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 154.00 to 159.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 130.00 to 141.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 110.00 to 118.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 142.00 to 158.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 131.00 to 150.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 118.00 to 130.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 103.00 to 107.00.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1500 lbs., 80.00 to 88.50; low dressing, 78.00 to 81.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 75.00 to 80.00; low dressing, 70.00 to 75.50; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 61.00 to 70.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1400 to 2150 lbs., 103.00 to 108.50; low dressing, 1100 to 1775 lbs., 91.50 to 99.00.

Stock cows: And heifers, all sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1100.00 to 1175.00. Medium and large frame 2, 840.00 to 1100.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 200 to 450 lbs., calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1250.00 to 1475.00. Medium and large frame 2, 1000.00 to 1175.00.

Stocker feeder: Cows, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1000 lbs., no test; young and middle age, 800 to 1000 lbs., 90.00 to 95.00 cwt; middle age, 900 to 1300 lbs., 81.00 to 90.00 cwt; thin &/or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 69.50 to 81.00 cwt.
