Kansas Livestock Foundation offers youth scholarships
A number of scholarships are being offered to youth for the 2013-2014 school year by the Kansas Livestock Foundation. Applicants must be graduates of a Kansas high school, entering or returning to a Kansas community or senior college in the fall of 2013 and pursuing a degree in agriculture or a related field.
The $1,000 Glenn & Clyde Lindstrom Scholarship is funded through a gift to the foundation from the Lindstrom brothers’ estates. Preference will be given to residents of USD 400 in northern McPherson and southern Saline counties, where the Lindstroms farmed and ranched. The $1,000 KLF Youth in Agriculture Scholarship is made possible through the club calf sale held annually during the Kansas Junior Livestock Show in Wichita.
An application for these and other KLF scholarships is available at http://www.kla.org/scholarshipprogram.aspx. Applications and supporting materials must be postmarked by April 25. For additional information, call the Kansas Livestock Association office or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
