Fall Into Agriculture art contest underwayIllustrating the theme "Fall Into Agriculture" could land a young artist a check and the chance to be featured as the official High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal Thanksgiving card. We are asking participants to "Fall Into Agriculture" by expressing how they view agriculture during this time of the year--whether it's with your family, at home, on the farm, in the country, or in nature. The contest kicked off Aug. 6 and entries must be postmarked no later than Sept. 21. Artist age groups include: 6 and under; 7 to 10; and 11 to 15 years old. See complete contest rules below. The grand prize winner will receive $250, and their artwork will become the official High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal Thanksgiving card. In addition, one winner will be chosen out of each age division for a prize of $100. Entry guidelines: --All entries should be postmarked on or by Sept. 21. --Include entrant name, address, phone number and age on back of artwork. --Artwork should follow the "Fall Into Agriculture" theme. --Submissions accepted only on 8 1/2- by 11-inch sheet of paper. --Any type of original artwork created by hand (no computer-generated artwork) will be accepted. Art may be pen, pencil, watercolor, crayon, marker, etc. No items should be glued to the page, including glitter. --Artwork will be judged on originality, creativity, artistic ability for age, adherence to the theme, and adherence to the rules. --There are three age categories: 6 and under; 7 to 10; and 11 to 15 years old. --All artwork becomes the property of High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal and will not be returned.
