Brownback makes animal health advisory board appointments

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback has appointed Lyman Nuss of Dorrance and Wade Taylor from Oakley to the Kansas Animal Health Advisory Board. Nuss will serve in the beef cattle industry position, while Taylor will fill the veterinary medicine position. Both were appointed for three-year terms.

Nuss is a family farmer and rancher. He is a KLA member and graduate of Kansas State University. Nuss serves on the Trichomoniasis Working Group for the Kansas Department of Agriculture's Animal Health Division.

Taylor, a veterinarian and KLA member, is a managing partner of Production Animal Consultation, LLC. He earned his doctorate of veterinary medicine from K-State and a Great Plains Veterinary Educational Center Beef Cattle Certificate from the University of Nebraska.

The nine-member Kansas Animal Health Board serves in an advisory role to the Kansas Animal Health Commissioner on policies and actions affecting the livestock industry.
