Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Stockyards Inc., Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,142 head Sept. 10, compared to 3,573 head last week and 4,015 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to two weeks ago, yearling steers and heifers were steady to $4 higher. Steer calves were steady to $6 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $4 lower. Demand was very good on 4 to 6 weight steer and bull calves. Quality was plain to attractive with average fills. The supply included 22% over 600 pounds, 41% heifers 578 cows and bulls. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to $2 higher. A total of 578 cows and bulls sold with 80% going to packers.
