High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Sept. 9, totaled 80,938 head, compared to 106,690 head last week and 150,103 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.
The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 5,714 head, 1,280 to 1,575 lbs., 119.00 to 125.00 (121.6); 65 to 80% Choice, 6,706 head, 1,250 to 1,520 lbs., 119.00 to 125.00 (123.52); 35 to 65% Choice, 10,166 head, 1,200 to 1,455 lbs., 119.00 to 125.00 (124.10).
