San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 1,026 head Sept. 6, compared to 1,157 head last week and 4,549 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady in light test. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were steady. Stock cows and pairs were steady. Trading was fairly active, demand good. The supply included 15% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 34% feeders, 50% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 30% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 450 lbs., 177.00; 638 lbs., 141.00; 700 to 755 lbs., 127.00 to 131.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 600 to 700 lbs., 130.00 to 136.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 119.00 to 123.00. Medium and large frame 2, 223 lbs., 175.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 174.00 to 177.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 146.00 to 151.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 132.00 to 140.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 125.00 to 126.00; 738 lbs., 110.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1 700 to 850 lbs., 116.00 to 118.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 142.00 to 157.50; 500 to 700 lbs., 124.00 to 133.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 110.00 to 111.00. Medium and large frame 2, 400 to 500 lbs., 131.00 to 139.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 115.00 to 120.50; 700 to 855 lbs., 103.00 to 110.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1550 lbs., 71.00 to 76.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 76.00 to 80.50; high dressing, 82.50; low dressing, 74.50 to 77.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 68.50 to 76.00; low dressing, 65.00 to 68.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 60.00 to 66.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1500 to 2100 lbs., 95.50 to 104.50; high dressing, 110.00; low yielding, 1100 to 1800 lbs., 89.00 to 95.50.

Stock cows and heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head, Medium and large frame 1, heifers, heavy bred 1025.00 to 1270.00; light bred 900.00 to 1050.00; baby tooth, heavy bred 1110.00 to 1440.00; light bred 1050.00 to 1125.00; solid mouth, heavy bred 1100.00 to 1260.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, heifers, light bred 850.00 to 1000.00; solid mouth, heavy bred 1030.00 to 1100.00. Medium and large frame 2, solid mouth, heavy bred 850.00 to 1000.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 100- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, baby tooth 1400.00; solid mouth 1325.00 to 1425.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, solid mouth 1125.00 to 1250.00.

Stocker/feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1050 lbs., 94.50 to 99.00 cwt; young and middle-age, 800 to 1100 lbs., 81.00 to 91.00 cwt; middle-age, 900 to 1300 lbs.,76.00 to 83.50 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 75.00 to 78.50 cwt.
