Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Sept. 10, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $8.89 3/4, down 15 1/4 cent; December corn, $7.83 1/4, down 16 1/4 cents; and November soybeans, $17.18 3/4, down 17 3/4 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $9.49 1/2 to $9.54 1/2, down 14 3/4 to 18 3/4 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $9.33 3/4 to $9.34 3/4, down 15 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $7.98 1/4 to $8.13 1/4, down 15 1/4 to 1 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, unavailable; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $13.18 1/4 to $13.45, down 29 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $17.80 3/4 to $17.88 3/4, down 20 3/4 to 17 3/4 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $8.30. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $8.24 to $8.95. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was mostly steady to 1 cent lower. In north central Colorado, wheat was $8.24 to $8.55. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $8.01 to $8.24. In east central Colorado, wheat was $8.09 to $8.29. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $8.24 to $8.44. In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.24. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $8.04 to $8.14. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 5 cents lower and $7.38 to $7.88 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $7.48 to $7.83. In east central Colorado, corn was $7.53 to $7.73. In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.93 to $8.13. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $7.53 to $7.98 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 9 cents lower to 9 cents higher at $13.36 to $13.54 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 17 cents lower at $16.02 to $16.46 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $21 to $27 per cwt., mostly $26.50. Sunflowers were $25 to $30 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $7.38 to $7.88 per bushel. Barley was steady at $13.50. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $38 to $40 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were mostly $35. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $32 to $33. Great Northerns were steady at $38 to $40 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $35. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, light red kidneys were steady $50; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys, unavailable.
