Kansas Workforce Summit set for January 2013

Kansas

Western Kansas Manufacturers Association, sponsor of the Kansas Workforce Summit, has once again invited Gov. Sam Brownback and Kansas Department of Commerce Secretary Pat George to kick off the 12th Annual Kansas Workforce Summit. The 2013 Summit will be held Jan. 23 and 24, 2013, in Topeka, Kan., at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Maner Conference Center. The Kansas Workforce Summit is an annual forum for employers, educators, community members, chamber representatives, legislators and government officials, and local workforce board members to address the new realities facing the workforce and economic development issues in Kansas.

The Kansas Workforce Summit is proud to announce Sunny Ackerman, vice president and general manager, Manpower, will be the 2013 Kansas Workforce Summit keynote speaker. Ackerman will discuss what businesses are doing to hire and retain the right talent in a world where 49 percent of U.S. employers are struggling to fill mission-critical positions. She'll make connections to how the workforce system, economic development and education can support these evolving talent strategies, creating collaborative relationships and sustainable jobs.

Registrations are being taken and are limited to 300 participants. Take advantage of early-bird registration rates through Oct. 26; full registration rates thereafter.

For complete Summit information, visit www.3ishow.com/kws or contact WKMA directly toll-free at 877-405-2883 or locally at 620-227-8082.
