Webcast covers 300-bushel corn

In part two of his "300-Bushel Corn" series, Roger Elmore, Ph.D., Extension corn specialist and professor of agronomy at Iowa State University, discusses the impacts of additional factors on corn yield.

This latest presentation covers:

--Hybrid choice;

--Plant population;

--Planting date;

--Row spacing;

--Crop rotation on yield; and

--Factors limiting yield.

By the end of this talk, users will understand the importance of optimum crop management practices in maximizing yield and consider the promises--and challenges--of reaching a national average of 300 bushels per acre.

This presentation is open access through Nov. 30 and can be viewed at www.plantmanagementnetwork.org/edcenter/seminars/corn/maxyieldpart2. Other Focus on Corn presentations can be viewed at www.plantmanagementnetwork.org/foc.

Focus on Corn is a publication of the Plant Management Network, a nonprofit online publisher whose mission is to enhance the health, management, and production of agricultural and horticultural crops. It achieves this mission through applied, science-based resources. PMN is jointly managed by the American Society of Agronomy, American Phytopathological Society, and Crop Science Society of America.
