Soybeans have solid gainsSoybeans had solid gains while wheat closed with modest gains and corn traded fractionally lower, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Oct. 22. Corn took to the sidelines as outside markets turned lower as the day went on which help to limit gains on corn. Soybeans had double-digit gains on strong demand fundamentals. Wheat closed with modest gains as weather in the Southern Plains remains a concern. Wheat closed mostly 6 to 8 cents higher. Corn traded mostly 1 cent lower. Soybeans closed 12 to 17 cents higher. In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $9.15 1/2, up 7 1/2 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $8.86, up 8 cents; Minneapolis, $9.57 1/2, up 5 cents; Portland, unavailable; St. Louis, $8.59, up 6 cents. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.76 to $7.81, down 1 cent; Minneapolis, $7.20 1/4, down 7 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $7.39 3/4 to $7.48 1/4, down 3/4 to 1/4 cents; Omaha, $7.83 to $7.86, up 1 to down 1 cent. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $15.52, up 13 cents; Minneapolis, $15.16 1/2, up 4 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $15.26 to $15.33 1/2, up 11 3/4 to 13 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $15.51 1/2 to $15.61 1/2, up 17 1/4 to 12 1/4 cents. Kansas City wheat prices Oct. 23, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $9.42 3/4 to $10.02 3/4, down 7 3/4 to 9 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $9.97 3/4 to $10.14 3/4, down 9 3/4 to 7 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $10 3/4 to $10.15 3/4, down 7 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $10.02 3/4 to $10.17 3/4, down 7 3/4 cents.
