Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Oct. 22, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $8.78 1/4, up 5 3/4 cent; December corn, $7.61 1/4, down 1/4 cent; and November soybeans, $15.46 1/2, up 12 1/4 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $9.90 1/2 to $10 1/2, up 12 1/2 to 7 1/2 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $9.36 1/4 to $9.38 1/4, up 8 3/4 to 7 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $8.26 1/4 to $8.28 1/4, down 1/4 cent; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $13.23 3/4 to $13.41 1/2, up 44 1/4 to 35 1/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $13.32 1/2 to $13.50 1/2, down 1 1/2 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $16.19 1/2 to $16.22 1/2, up 12 1/4 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $8.53. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $8.43 to $8.98. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was mostly 8 cents lower. In north central Colorado, wheat was $8.27 to $8.68. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $8.20 to $8.33. In east central Colorado, wheat was $8.18 to $8.48. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $8.38 to $8.58. In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.57. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $8.13 to $8.33. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 5 cents lower and $7.26 to $7.75 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $7.38 to $7.56. In east central Colorado, corn was $7.49 to $7.66. In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.91 to $7.96. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $7.36 to $7.40 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was mostly 9 to 10 cents lower at $12.96 to $13.14 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were mostly 6 cents higher at $14.68 to $14.79 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $28 to $30 per cwt., mostly $30. Sunflowers were $25.50 to $27 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $7.26 to $7.66 per bushel. Barley was steady at $13. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $35 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were $32 to $33. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $30. Great Northerns were steady at $40 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32.
