Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Oct. 15, reported in futures trading that Chicago July soft red winter wheat was $8.484 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; December corn, $7.37 1/4, down 15 1/2 cents; and November soybeans, $14.92 1/2, down 30 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $9.51 1/4 to $9.66 1/4, down 9 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $9.05 1/4 to $9.06 1/4, down 8 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $8 1/4 to $8.03 1/4, down 15 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $12.36 1/4 to $12.63, down 27 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $12.96 3/4 to $12.98 3/4, down 27 3/4 to 27 1/2 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $15.66 1/2 to $15.68 1/2, down 30 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $8.25. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $8.18 to $8.73. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was mostly 2 cents higher. In north central Colorado, wheat was $8.17 to $8.38. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $7.95 to $8.10. In east central Colorado, wheat was $7.93 to $8.23. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $8.13 to $8.28. In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.32. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $7.88 to $8.08. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 1 cent higher and $7.08 to $7.56 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $7.18 to $7.38. In east central Colorado, corn was $7.31 to $7.48. In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.73 to $7.78. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $7.18 to $7.22 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was 2 cents higher at $12.64 to $12.82 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 1 cent lower at $14.09 to $14.18 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $29.50 to $31 per cwt., mostly $30. Sunflowers were $26 to $27 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $7.08 to $7.48 per bushel. Barley was steady at $13. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $35 to $36 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were $32 to $33. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $30 to $32. Great Northerns were steady at $40 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32.
