Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom to host postcard contest
The Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom invites all kindergarten through sixth grade students in Kansas to participate in its 2013 Postcard Art Contest. The theme for this year is "Kansas Farmers Help Feed The World," which focuses on the impact agriculture in Kansas has on the entire world.
Students can participate by using an official entry form, located on KFAC's website, www.ksagclassroom.org. Additional information is also available. Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 1, 2013.
One winner from each grade level (K-6) and one grand prize winner will be selected, and each winner will receive a cash prize. Each winner, teacher and parent/guardian will be invited to an awards ceremony during the State Ag Day celebration in March. The awards ceremony will be held in Topeka at the State Department of Agriculture.
Entries will be judged on relevance to theme, creativity, originality, use of space and color, and clarity of idea and image.
The 2013 Postcard Art contest is sponsored by the Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom and Kansas State University College of Agriculture.
The Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is a 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to involve Kansans in understanding the fundamental impact of agriculture on their everyday lives. By providing resources to Kansas teachers, KFAC hopes to connect classrooms to Kansas agriculture.
