Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Inc., Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,758 head Oct. 8, compared to 3,194 head last week and 3,017 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $3 higher. Steer calves were steady to $9 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $3 higher. Quality was plain to attractive. Demand was good for all classes of cattle. The supply included 25% over 600 pounds, with 47% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to $2 higher. A total of 354 cows and bulls sold with 83% going to packers.
