America's Horse in Art continues through Nov. 10America's Horse in Art returned to the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in Amarillo with a list of world-renown western artists providing pieces for the fifth annual art show. The show opened Aug. 11 and continues through Nov. 10 in the Scharbauer Gallery. "The American Quarter Horse's impact on the American West is still inspiring artists today," said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway Jr. "The American Quarter Horse has long been a focus of Western art, and we appreciate these great artists joining together to support the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum and help to protect the history of these amazing animals." The signature piece for the 2012 show is a graphite and charcoal drawing by renowned Western artist Mary Ross Buchholz. Limited edition signed and unsigned prints of the signature piece are available for purchase. Art sales are available online at www.quarterhorsemuseum.com, by telephone at 806-376-5181 and by email at artshow@aqha.org. The purchased artwork will remain on exhibit through Nov. 10. Proceeds from the sale of the art will go to the Hall of Fame to support its efforts to preserve the history of the American Quarter Horse, but due to IRS regulations, the art is not tax-deductible.
