Kansas National Farmers supports maintaining ethanol mandateKansas At the National Farmers Kansas State Convention in Halstad, members voted to maintain the current 10 percent mandate for ethanol use. "Given the current drought and positions being taken by some livestock groups, our grain producers believe it's important to stand behind the ethanol industry," said Pete Lorenz, grain marketing manager. Ray Kohman, National Farmers Kansas State president, Solomon, Kan., said producers need to remember that ethanol helps reduce our dependency on foreign oil. Kansas National Farmers is a marketing and risk management organization offering programs to individual and producer groups across Kansas.
