The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 10,460 head Oct. 5, compared to 6,010 head last week and 8,037 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.
Compared to last week, steers under 700 pounds were mostly $3 to $7 higher. Over 700 pounds were mostly $1 higher. Heifers were mostly $3 to $6 higher. Trading activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. The supply consisted of 67% steers and 33% heifers. Feeders over 600 pounds made up 22% of the total supply.
