Joplin livestock auction report


The Carthage Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 5,370 head Sept. 24, compared to 4,047 head last week and 5,830 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo,

Compared to last week, steer and heifers calves were steady to $3 lower, yearlings were steady. Demand and supply were moderate. Beautiful fall weather, but new crop calves were at a health risk with the wide swings in temperatures. The feeder supply included 46% steers, 44% heifers, 11% bulls, with 42% over 600 pounds.
