Keoco Feeder cattle auction reportThe Keoco Feeder Cattle Auction, Sigourney, Iowa, reported receipts of 449 head Sept. 24, compared to 749 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. There was no trend as this sale was last reported three weeks ago. Trade was active and very good demand. Receipts included 71.1% over 600 pounds, 85.8% steers, 9.3% heifers, 4.9% bull calves. The bulk of the feeders were long time weaned, two rounds of shots, grade Medium and large frame ones. Offerings in nice packages even with a short run of good cattle. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 404 to 420 lbs., 169.00 to 176.00 (173.00); 19 head, 481 to 498 lbs., 171.50 to 176.00 (173.36); 8 head, 520 lbs., 178.50 fancy; 6 head, 566 lbs., 170.00; 62 head, 629 lbs., 164.25; 20 head, 622 to 633 lbs., 156.50 to 162.50 (160.11) calves; 58 head, 744 lbs., 155.50; 10 head, 754 lbs., 155.00; 31 head, 779 lbs., 147.00 calves; 67 head, 798 lbs., 149.25 load; 7 head, 919 lbs., 125.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 16 head, 508 to 531 lbs., 151.50 to 158.00 (156.93).
