San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 1,067 head Sept. 20, compared to 1,166 head last week and 3,851 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were firm to $2 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were $1 to $4 lower. Stock cows and pairs were firm. Trading was fairly active, demand was good. The supply included 30% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 60% feeders, 9% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 55% steers and bulls, 20% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 500 to 600 lbs., 150.00 to 156.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 142.00 to 153.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 127.00 to 132.50, few 137.00; 828 lbs., 128.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 388 lbs., 190.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 158.00 to 160.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 144.00 to 150.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 134.00 to 141.50; 738 lbs., 123.00; 820 lbs., 110.00. Medium and large frame 2, 200 to 300 lbs., 160.00 to 175.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 162.00 to 177.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 142.00 to 154.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 133.00 to 143.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 120.00 to 130.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 390 lbs., 190.00; 430 lbs., 154.00; 500 to 610 lbs., 137.00 to 146.00; 712 lbs., 119.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 282 lbs., 176.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 142.00 to 148.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 125.00 to 135.00. Medium and large frame 2, 350 to 400 lbs., 141.00 to 147.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 131.00 to 139.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 120.00 to 125.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1475 lbs., 70.00 to 76.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 73.00 to 76.50; low dressing, 70.00 to 75.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 67.50 to 74.00; low dressing, 63.00 to 68.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 60.00 to 64.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1500 to 2100 lbs., 92.00 to 102.00; low dressing, 1100 to 1800 lbs., 84.00 to 92.00.

Stock cows and heifers: All sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1, 1235.00 to 1300.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1100.00 to 1200.00. Medium and large frame 2 , 840.00 to 1100.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 100- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, 1400.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1200.00 to 1400.00. Medium and large frame 2, 1050.00 to 1200.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1000 lbs., 96.00 to 102.00 cwt; young and middle-aged, 800 to 1050 lbs., 85.00 to 94.00 cwt; middle-aged, 900 to 1300 lbs., 77.00 to 80.00 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 70.00 to 77.50 cwt.
