The Bloomfield Feeder Cattle Auction, Bloomfield, Iowa, reported receipts of 887 head Sept. 19, compared to 1,431 head last year, according to the USDA-Iowa Department of Agriculture Market News, Des Moines, Iowa.
No comparison as this was the first sale reported for the fall season. Trade was active and demand very good. Receipts this week included 9% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 63% of the feeders were steers and 37% were heifers.

Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 293 lbs., 195.00; 5 head, 385 lbs., 194.00. Large frame 1, 10 head, 543 lbs., 163.50. Large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 488 lbs., 175.00; 16 head, 511 lbs., 154.50. Large frame 2, 6 head, 376 lbs., 165.00; 14 head, 482 lbs., 167.50.
