Kansas Auctioneer's Association to hold competition in Plainville

The Plainville Livestock Commission, Inc. will host the fifth annual Kansas Auctioneer's Association Livestock Market Auctioneer's Competition on Nov. 13. Auction time is 12:30 p.m. The contestants must be employed and endorsed as an auctioneer at a Livestock Auction Market in Kansas. Previous winners were Charly Cummings of Yates Center, Lynn Langvardt of Chapman, Brian Little of Coffeyville, and Blaine Lotz of Edna.

Ty Gillum, owner of Plainville Livestock, is looking forward to hosting this event and invites everyone to attend to hear and see some of the best auctioneers from Kansas in action. In addition, Ty says there will be a great selection of farm and ranch fresh livestock to choose from. A panel of three livestock market owners/managers will judge the contestants on bid calling ability and livestock market knowledge. The auction will be broadcast live on the internet at CATTLEUSA.com. Winners will be announced following the contest; however, prizes will be awarded at the KAA's Annual Winter Convention to be held at the Clarion Hotel, Manhattan, KS. on January 10-13, 2013. For more information contact Charly Cummings at 620-496-7108 or Wayne Wischropp at 785-828-4212.
