Colorado Horsemen's Convention set for Oct. 6

Paul Andrews, National Western Stock Show president and CEO, along with Rick Wahlert of the Colorado Brand Board, are set to open the convention on Oct. 6, at 9 a.m.

Scot Dutcher and Dr. Kate Anderson from the Colorado Department of Agriculture will address the attendees during the lunchtime presentation with the topic of "Equine Welfare: A Bureau of Animal Protection Overview."

Attendees will have an opportunity to hear about the latest developments of the of the National Western Stock Show from Andrews, who will have the latest updates in the development and negotiations of facilities.

The convention will host several industry leaders in the equestrian industry and attendees will have an opportunity to exchanges ideas and concepts to help them in their business experience and with raising horses. All presenters were hand picked from other industry leaders and will provide the most up-to-date information that is directing the growth and development of the horse community.

Other Topics of discussion will include: Marketing for the Horse Industry; Horse Ownership Responsibilities--It's a Legal Matter; "The Horse Marketer," Shout, Don't Whisper; Manure Management: Best Practices for Horse Owners; Healing and Regenerative Medications and Therapy; Animal Emergency Response; Safety with Your Horse in Public; Colorado Unwanted Horse Alliance; Tax and Accounting Issues; Unwanted Horse--Youth Lesson Plans; Building a Better Future for the Horse Industry; and The Value of Knowing the Value of Your Industry.

Come learn about the diversity and opportunities that are thriving in the Rocky Mountain Region Equine Community. The registration fee is $50 (be a member of Colorado Horse Council and get a $5 discount) and includes lunch. Organizations have the opportunity to display and network at the convention.
