Bucklin Public Library Foundation selling tax creditsKansas The Bucklin Public Library Foundation "Building for the Future" project is thriving. The BPL Foundation announced that in August it sold all of its original $225,000 in tax credits. Of those sold, only $60,000 are pledges, which are being collected now through the fall. Due to the success of the project, the state has awarded the BPL Foundation with more tax credits. In fact, the BPL Foundation has already sold an additional $28,000 and is working to sell at least $75,000 more. The added credits are vital to the success of the project. They will help close the financial gap that the Foundation, Friends of the Bucklin Public Library and other community members have been working hard to narrow through fundraising efforts. "Due to the support of other groups and individuals in the community, along with some grants, the financial gap is significantly less than it was a year ago. We would like to see that gap diminish through the sale of these extra credits," said LynAnn Bowman, BPL Foundation chairman.
