Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Oct. 29, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $8.58, down 5 3/4 cents; December corn, $7.37, down 3/4 cent; and Nov. soybeans, $15.27 1/4, down 34 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $9.78 1/4 to $9.88 1.4, down 6 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $9.21 to $9.24, down 2 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $8.02 to $8.06, down 3/4 to 1 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $12.80 1/4 to $12.98 1/4, down 1 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $12.94 3/4 to $12.98 1/4, down 1 1/4 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $16.03 1/4 to $16.11 1/4,down 3/4 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $8.50. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $8.37 to $9.12. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was mostly 1 cent lower. In north central Colorado, wheat was $8.23 to $8.72. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $8.14 to $8.26. In east central Colorado, wheat was $8.12 to $8.47. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $8.32 to $8.52. In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.52. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $8.07 to $8.33. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was 5 cents higher and $7.12 to $7.64 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $7.24 to $7.50. In east central Colorado, corn was $7.35 to $7.52. In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.77 to $7.82. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $7.22 to $7.27 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was mostly 9 cents higher at $12.71 to $12.89 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 7 cents higher at $14.49 to $14.57 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $29.50 to $31 per cwt., mostly $31. Sunflowers were $25.50 to $27 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $7.12 to $7.52 per bushel. Barley was steady at $13. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $35 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady $32 to $33. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $30. Great Northerns were steady at $38 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32.
