Webcast covers corn hybrid selection

Variety selection is arguably one of the most important decisions that corn growers make each year.

Evaluating all the information in today's marketplace can be a daunting task, and the ever-increasing inclusion of technology traits and treatments in seed products further increases the need to understand their benefits and issues.

Erick Larson, Ph.D., an Extension professor with Mississippi State University, addresses these needs through his presentation, "Corn Hybrid Selection in the Mid-South." And while Larson's presentation uses principles applied in the Mid-South, most of these principles apply globally.

This presentation is open access through Feb. 28, 2013.

Focus on Corn is a publication of the Plant Management Network, a nonprofit online publisher whose mission is to enhance the health, management, and production of agricultural and horticultural crops. It achieves this mission through applied, science-based resources. PMN is jointly managed by the American Society of Agronomy, American Phytopathological Society, and Crop Science Society of America.
