Colorado feeder cattle auction summary

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 14,051 head Nov. 16, compared to 15,407 head last week and 15,074 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, steers weighing 300 to 450 pounds traded mostly $2 lower on a light test, 450- to 700-pound steers traded mostly steady to $4 higher. There was not enough trade for an adequate market test on steers over 700 pounds. Heifers weighing 350 to 500 pounds traded steady to $4 higher. Heifers weighing 500 to 800 pounds traded unevenly steady. No trend was available on heifers over 800 pounds due to a light test. Trading activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. The supply consisted of 56% steers and 44% heifers. Feeders over 600 pounds comprised 35% of the total supply.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 305 to 350 lbs., 199.00 to 209.00; 360 to 400 lbs., 180.00 to 207.50, thin fleshed 212.00; 405 to 445 lbs., 163.00 to 204.00, fancy 177.00 to 213.00; 450 to 490 lbs., 155.50 to 190.00, fancy 201.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 152.50 to 176.00, full 141.00 to 165.50, thin fleshed 169.00 to 183.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 147.00 to 162.50, full 145.00; 600 to 645 lbs., 138.00 to 156.00; 650 to 690 lbs., 141.00 to 149.00; 700 to 740 lbs., 137.00 to 142.00, calves 132.00 to 136.00, thin fleshed 143.50; 755 to 790 lbs., 134.00 to 145.00; 815 to 840 lbs., 127.50 to 142.00; 850 to 875 lbs., 135.00 to 141.00; 945 to 950 lbs., 128.50 to 131.50; 1013 lbs., 118.50.
