Texas Direct feeder cattle summary

The Texas Weekly Direct Feeder Cattle Summary, reported receipts of 20,500 head Nov. 16, compared to 17,600 head last week and 16,000 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, current feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 lower on a much better test of Current FOB cattle. Approximately 94% of this week's cattle weighed over 600 pounds. Approximately 48% of this week's weighted average receipts were steers and 52% heifers. Prices based on net weights FOB after a 3% shrink or equivalent and 5 to 10 cent slide on calves and 4 to 6 cent slide on yearlings from base weights. Current sales are up to 14 days delivery.

Steers: 9,800 head, 48%, Medium and large frame 1, FOB price 590 lbs., 153.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 144.00 to 152.00, fleshy 142.25; 700 to 750 lbs., 148.85, fleshy 137.25; 750 to 800 lbs., 140.00 to 144.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 139.00 to 143.00. Delivered price 700 to 800 lbs., 141.25 to 146.85; 800 to 875 lbs., 141.00 to 144.50, fleshy 137.00 to 142.00. Future delivery, FOB price 650 lbs., 152.60 February; 750 lbs., 143.80 to 143.85 January; 800 lbs., 144.60 March. Delivered price, 750 to 800 lbs., 145.95 to 147.15 January to February; 800 to 850 lbs., 143.30 to 148.25 January to May. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, FOB price, 680 to 700 lbs., 141.40; 700 to 800 lbs., 134.85 to 141.30; 800 to 850 lbs., 134.25 to 137.45.
