San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,799 head Nov. 15, compared to 1,824 head last week and 3,017 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers weak to $2 lower, instances were $2 to $4 lower on unweaned calves. Slaughter cows were firm to $1 higher, slaughter bulls were steady. Stock cows and pairs were firm. Trading and demand was moderate for feeders. Trading was fairly active, demand good for cows. Unweaned calves and bulls met resistance again this week. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, 63% feeders, 25% stock cows and pairs. The feeders were 60% steers and bulls, 25% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 205 lbs., 207.50; 304 lbs., 212.50; 400 to 450 lbs., 188.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 163.00 to 172.50; 620 lbs., 141.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 131.00 to 138.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 288 lbs., 188.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 172.50 to 180.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 144.00 to 160.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 135.00 to 140.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 120.00 to 129.00; 828 lbs., 125.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 165.00 to 186.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 140.00 to 164.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 132.50 to 142.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 122.00 to 132.00; 700 to 850 lbs., 115.00 to 120.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 500 to 600 lbs., 120.00 to 126.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 107.00 to 120.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 102.00 to 114.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 465 lbs., 160.00; 600 to 625 lbs., 141.00 to 142.00; 766 lbs., 124.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 293 lbs., 170.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 171.00 to 172.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 141.00 to 146.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 130.00 to 139.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 130.00 to 131.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 112.00 to 115.00. Medium and large frame 2, 275 to 300 lbs., 140.00 to 158.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 142.00 to 160.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 128.00 to 140.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 114.00 to 126.00; 700 to 900 lbs., 107.00 to 111.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1675 lbs., 67.00 to 73.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 72.00 to 79.50 79.50 to 82.00 69.00 to 73.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 69.00 to 72.50; low dressing, 65.00 to 70.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 60.00 to 65.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1675 to 2175 lbs., 90.00 to 94.50; low dressing, 1100 to 1800 lbs., 80.00 to 89.00.

Stock cows and heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head, Medium and large frame 1, heifers, heavy bred, 1200.00; baby tooth, heavy bred, 1375.00 to 1400.00; light bred, 1200.00 to 1275.00; solid mouth, heavy bred, 1200.00 to 1400.00; light bred, 1250.00 to 1275.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, heifers, heavy bred, 1050.00 to 1100.00; light bred, 1000.00; baby tooth, heavy bred, 1000.00 to 1125.00; light bred, 1000.00; solid mouth, heavy bred, 1000.00 to 1125.00; short solid, heavy bred, 950.00 to 1075.00. Medium and large frame 2, heifers, light bred, 850.00; baby tooth, heavy bred, 800.00 to 1000.00; solid mouth, heavy bred, 850.00 to 1050.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 100- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, solid mouth cows 1400.00 to 1550.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, solid mouth cows, 1350.00; short solid cows 1375.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1075 lbs., no test; young and middle-aged, 800 to 1150 lbs., 84.00 to 88.00 cwt; middle-aged, 800 to 1300 lbs., 74.00 to 81.00 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 67.50 to 75.50 cwt.
