Oklahoma Beef Council, Oklahoma CattleWomen to host Beef Cook-off
The Oklahoma Beef Council and the Oklahoma CattleWomen, Inc. have teamed up again to showcase great beef recipes through the Oklahoma Beef Cook-off.
Enter any original beef entree or appetizer recipe in the Oklahoma Beef Cook-off Recipe Contest for a chance to win cash and other great prizes. Enter in the Beefed Up Beginnings appetizer category or the Budget Busting Meals entree category. Show how you use beef in delicious recipes as part of a healthy balanced diet.
Submit a typed recipe and pictures, if possible, to firstname.lastname@example.org by Dec. 1 to be entered into the contest. Entry forms can also be faxed to 405-235-3608 or mailed to 2500 Exchange Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73108. See rules and contest details at http://okcattlewomen.org/beef-cook-off/. Some exclusions do apply.
Recipes will be judged based on taste, appeal, use of beef as a main ingredient and ease of preparation. Finalist recipes will be prepared by Oklahoma Beef Cook-off committee members and members of Oklahoma CattleWomen at a neutral site. Finalist entries will then be judged by an independent panel of food experts at that time. The winning recipe will be sealed in an envelope by the judging panel to be revealed at the awards presentation on Jan. 19, 2013, at the Oklahoma City Home and Garden Show. The OCW will also be demonstrating the 2011 Oklahoma Beef Cook-off winning recipes at the event.
The Oklahoma Beef Cook-off is a partnership between the Oklahoma Beef Council and the Oklahoma CattleWomen, Inc. It is backed by beef checkoff dollars.
