Grain, soybean bids sharply lower

Grain and soybean bids traded sharply lower following a bearish U.S. Department of Agriculture report Nov. 9, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Nov. 13.

Additional pressure for corn and soybeans came from favorable weather in South America.

Wheat was 23 to 31 cents lower. Corn was 18 to 21 cents lower. Sorghum was 33 to 37 cents lower. Soybeans were 43 to 46 cents lower.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $8.90 1/2, down 31 3/4 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $8.57 to $8.61, down 31 cents; Minneapolis, $9.34 1/2, down 26 cents; Portland, unavailable; St. Louis, $8.47, down 29 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.53, down 21 cents; Minneapolis, $6.85, down 19 3/4 cents; southern Iowa, unavailable; Omaha, $7.37 to $7.43, down 21 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $14.20, down 46 cents; Minneapolis, $13.87, down 45 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, unavailable; central Illinois processors, $14.20 to $14.23, down 45 1/4 to 43 1/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Nov. 13, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $9.32 3/4 to $9.82 3/4, down 2 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $9.72 3/4 to $9.88 3/4, down 2 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $9.77 3/4 to $9.95 3/4, down 2 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $9.82 3/4 to $9.97 3/4, down 2 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $8.28 to $8.59, unchanged.
