Georgia livestock auction summaryThe summary of livestock auctions in Georgia for the week ending Nov. 9 totaled 9,510 head, compared to 9,549 head last week and 12,297 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were mostly steady to $2 higher. Bulls were unevenly steady. Feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher. Steer calves were steady to $3 higher, and heifer calves were $1 to $3 higher. Replacement cows were mostly steady. The offering included 11% steers over 600 pounds, 34% steers under 600 pounds, 8% heifers over 600 pounds, 25% heifers under 600 pounds, 7% feeder cows, 13% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
