Texas Direct feeder cattle summary

The Texas Weekly Direct Feeder Cattle Summary, Amarillo, Texas, reported receipts of 17,600 head Nov. 9, compared to 14,000 head last week and 23,800 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week's light test of Medium and large frame 1, cattle current FOB feeder steers and heifers were steady to weak. Approximately 96% of this week's cattle weighed over 600 pounds. Approximately 56% of this week's weighted average receipts were steers and 44% heifers. Prices based on net weights FOB after a 3% shrink or equivalent and 5 to 10 cent slide on calves and 4 to 6 cent slide on yearlings from base weights. Delivered prices include freight, commissions and other expenses. Current sales are up to 14 days delivery.

Steers: 10,000 head, Medium and large frame 1, FOB price 600 to 700 lbs., 147.00 to 150.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 142.00 to 144.95; 800 to 825 lbs., 140.00 to 143.00. Delivered price 650 to 700 lbs., 146.00 to 147.85; 700 to 800 lbs., 144.50 to 147.50; 800 to 875 lbs., 140.00 to 145.00; 925 lbs., 139.00. Future delivery, FOB price load 650 lbs., 150.25 January; 750 to 800 lbs., 144.60 to 145.60 January; 800 to 825 lbs., 141.95 January; 650 lbs., 152.50 February; 750 lbs., 144.85 to 148.97 February to March. Delivered price 725 lbs., 152.40 May. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, FOB price 587 lbs., 149.49; 600 to 700 lbs., 143.49 to 147.54; 700 to 800 lbs., 135.00 to 139.00; 800 to 825 lbs., 137.44 to 139.00. Delivered price, part load 725 lbs., 143.00; 800 to 825 lbs., 137.95 to 142.00. Future delivery, delivered price load 675 lbs., 150.50 January.
