Kansas Angus Association seeks consignments for female saleKansas The 21st Annual Commercial Angus Replacement Female Sale takes place Dec. 1. The Kansas Angus Association is sponsoring the 21st Annual Commercial Angus Replacement Female Sale at 1 p.m., Dec. 1 at Pratt Livestock, Pratt, Kan. The Association is currently seeking consignments for the proven marketing opportunity in south central Kansas. "We encourage cattlemen to consider bringing cattle to the Commercial Angus Replacement Female Sale, or saving the date and planning to attend Saturday, Dec. 1," says Anne Lampe, Kansas Angus Association secretary/manager. Consignments are due Nov. 16, and all producers are welcome to enter cattle in the sale. KAA membership is not required to participate. Cattlemen can sell commercial Angus and/or Angus influenced young cows, bred heifers, and open heifers. With many years of proven success, the sale offers top prices and buyers receive quality genetics from reputable sellers. Females must be consigned in a minimum five-head lot, be 7 years of age or younger, and meet Certified Angus Beef live specifications: predominately black hided; typical beef-type conformation; no visible dairy influence; and no visible Brahman influence, without long, floppy ears and hump. The sale welcomes bred cows and heifers to calve in the spring of 2013; fall cow-calf pairs, cows or heifers to calve in the fall 2013; and open heifers. For more information or to enter cattle into the sale, visit www.kansasangus.org, or contact sale chairman, Gordon Stucky, at 620-532-322 or gordon@stuckyranch.com. The KAA also plans to sponsor Spring Commercial Female sales in Junction City, Fort Scott and Holton, Kan. The American Angus Association is the nation's largest beef organization, serving more than 30,000 members across the United States and Canada. It provides programs and services to farmers, ranchers and others who rely on the power of Angus to produce quality genetics for the beef industry and quality beef for consumers.
