Grain market closeThe USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Nov. 5, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $8.66, up 1 1/2 cents; December corn, $7.35 1/2, down 4 cents; and January soybeans, $15.03 1/4, down 23 1/2 cents. The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $9.84 to $9.94, up 1/4 cent; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $9.36 to $9.38, up 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $8 1/2 to $8.03 1/2, down 4 to 3 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $12.77 3/4 to $13.31 1/4, down 7 to up 28 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, $12.86 1/2 to $13.22 1/4, down 7 1/4 cents; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $15.92 1/4 to $15.95 1/4, down 22 3/4 to 21 3/4 cents. Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $8.68. In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $8.55 to $9.30. No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was mostly 11 cents higher. In north central Colorado, wheat was $8.50 to $8.90. In northeast Colorado, wheat was $8.31 to $8.48. In east central Colorado, wheat was $8.30 to $8.65. In southeast Colorado, wheat was $8.50 to $8.75. In south central Colorado, wheat was $7.69. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $8.47 to $8.50. No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was mostly 5 cents higher and $7.11 to $7.80 per bushel. In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $7.25 to $7.48. In east central Colorado, corn was $7.34 to $7.51. In southeast Colorado, corn was $7.76 to $7.81. In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $7.23 to $7.28 per bushel. No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was mostly 9 cents higher at $12.70 to $12.88 per cwt. No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 13 cents lower at $14.31 to $14.34 per bushel. White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $30 to $31.50 per cwt., mostly $31. Sunflowers were $25.50 to $26 cwt. In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $7.11 to $7.61 per bushel. Barley was steady at $13. In northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $35 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were $32 to $34. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $30 to $32. Great Northerns were steady at $38 in northeast Colorado and Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $32.
