Superior video auction reportThe Superior Video Auction, Amarillo, Texas reported receipts of 24,500 head Nov. 2, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to the last sale on Oct. 19, feeder steers at 700 to 900 pounds sold steady to $3 higher with 700- to 800-pound heifers weak to $2 lower. The supply included 59% feeder steers and heifers over 600 pounds, 54% of the feeder supply was steers and 46% heifers. Prices for the 600 to 700 pounds weights are for calves in most cases this time of the year. Prices were FOB based on net weights after a 2 to 3% pencil shrink or equivalent, with a 3 to 6 cent slide on yearlings and 4 to 10 on calves. Deliveries are current through January, 2013.
