Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 3,687 head Nov. 5, compared to 3,525 head last week and 3,288 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder cattle steady with a very light test. Steer calves were steady to $4 higher. Heifer calves were steady to $3 lower. Quality was plain to attractive. Demand was very good. The supply included 17% over 600 pounds and 51% heifers. The shortage of livestock water has become a big factor with winter just around the corner. Slaughter cows and bulls sold $2 lower. A total of 550 cows and bulls sold with 70% going to slaughter. Stock cows were in good demand.
