Pratt livestock auction report

Pratt Livestock Feeder Cattle Auction, Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,851 head, Nov. 1, compared to 2,047 head, last week and 1,837 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, in a very limited supply of medium and large frame 1 steers and heifers at 300 to 600 pounds were steady to weak. Steers at 600 to 1,000 pounds were steady, heifers at 600 to 1,000 pounds were firm to $2 higher. Trade and demand were moderate. Slaughter cows were weak to $1 lower, bulk of trade low dressing. Slaughter bulls were steady. Receipts included 49% 600 pounds and over, 32% 600 pounds and under, 19% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply was 53% steers and 47% heifers.
