Colorado feeder cattle summary report

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 16,407 head Nov. 2, compared to 10,752 head last week and 12,162 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, steers traded mostly $1 to $4 higher with 350- to 450-pound steers trading $3 to $7 lower and 750- to 800-pound steers mostly $10 lower. Heifers were unevenly steady. Buyers continued to desire vaccinated 45- to 60-day weaned calves as cooler temperatures settled into the region. Trading activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. The supply consisted of 52% steers and 47% heifers. Feeders over 600 pounds made up 25% of the total supply.
