San Angelo livestock auction report


The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported estimated receipts of 1,300 head Nov. 1, compared to 837 head last week and 2,550 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were weak to $2 lower. Slaughter cows were $1 to $3 lower; slaughter bulls were $2 to $3 lower. Stock cows and pairs were steady in light test. Trading was fairly active, demand good. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 2% slaughter bulls, 83% feeders, 5% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 60% steers and bulls, with 35% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 500 to 600 lbs., 159.00 to 168.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 142.00 to 145.00, few 151.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 130.00 to 135.00; 802 lbs., 136.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2 400 to 500 lbs., 170.00 to 176.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 146.00 to 158.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 135.00 to 141.00; 776 lbs., 120.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 120.00 to 127.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 163.00 to 175.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 146.00 to 165.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 133.00 to 146.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 120.00 to 132.00; 711 lbs.,117.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 600 to 700 lbs., 113.00 to 120.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 110.00 to 114.00.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 345 lbs., 178.00; 400 to 425 lbs., 158.00 to 168.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 140.00 to 146.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 122.00 to 125.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 164.00 to 174.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 144.00 to 151.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 129.00 to 139.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 127.00 to 137.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 130.00 to 156.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 130.00 to 142.00; 500 to 700 lbs., 116.00 to 127.00; 700 to 900 lbs., 110.00 to 115.00.

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1300 to 1550 lbs., 74.00 to 78.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 900 to 1475 lbs., 70.00 to 79.00; low dressing, 69.00 to 72.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 1150 lbs., 66.00 to 71.50; low dressing, 65.00 to 67.00; 85 to 90% lean, 600 to 900 lbs., 59.00 to 65.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1, 1675 to 1785 lbs., 88.50 to 93.50; high dressing, 95.50; low dressing, 1100 to 1800 lbs., 77.00 to 86.00.

Stocks cows and heifers: Pregnancy tested, all sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1150.00 to 1275.00. Medium and large frame 2, 830.00 to 960.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 100- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, 1500.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1225.00 to 1375.00. Medium and large frame 2, 1125.00 to 1175.00.

Stocker and feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1000 lbs., 100.00 to 108.00 cwt; young and middle-aged, 800 to 1150 lbs., 85.00 to 91.00 cwt; middle-aged, 800 to 1300 lbs.,71.50 to 76.00 cwt; thin and or aged, 800 to 1200 lbs., 71.00 to 76.50 cwt.
