Trudy Kareus, state executive director for Colorado's Farm Service Agency announced that Casey Toyne has been selected as the county executive director for the Lincoln County FSA office, located in Hugo, Colo. He began his new duties on May 7.

Toyne grew up on a commercial cattle ranch in Worland, Wyo. His parents still live in Wyoming and his brother and sister are involved in agriculture in Montana. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2007, earning a Master of Science degree in Ag Economics. He met his wife, Heather, while attending OSU. She is a small animal veterinarian and is currently practicing in Farmington, N.M.

Toyne was commissioned into the Army Reserve while in college and served in Mosul and Basrah, Iraq as a Civil Affairs Officer in 2009 and 2010. In 2011, Toyne was selected into the County Operations Trainee program in New Mexico. During this time he worked in various county offices, studying FSA programs and learning county office operations. He completed the formal COT training program earlier this year.
