Ford County Conservation District annual meeting is Feb. 11

The 64th annual meeting of the Ford County Conservation District will be held at the Ford County 4-H Building in Dodge City on Feb. 11, beginning at 6 p.m. A meal will be furnished by banks of Ford County. During the evening meeting winners of the 2011 conservation poster, essay, and limerick contests will be recognized. A Distinguished Service Award will be presented, and the Ford County Conservation District Scholarship will be presented. Two District Supervisors will be elected by qualified electors who are present at the annual meeting. The Supervisors whose terms are expiring are John Askew of Dodge City and Colby Stegman of Offerle.
This year's program will be presented by a representative of the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The topic will be "Marijuana Eradication and the Posed Threats to Rural Residents." The presentation will include a discussion time with questions answered. Reservations are required. Please call the District office at 620-227-3731, Ext. 3, by Feb. 3.
