Western Kansas Dairy Summit to showcase industry

Kansas

The 2012 Garden City Farm & Ranch Show will be home to the first Western Kansas Dairy Summit to be presented by the Finney county Economic Development.

"Hosting the Western Kansas Dairy Summit in conjunction with the Garden City Farm and Ranch Show is a great vehicle for western Kansas to showcase its opportunities to out-of-state dairy producers to come to Kansas and see firsthand what we have to offer," said Lona DuVall, Finney County Economic Development Corporation. "We at Finney County Economic Development Corporation have worked closely with the western Kansas Rural Economic Development Alliance for several years promoting the dairy industry in western Kansas and the Dairy Summit helps us to raise awareness of the impact that area dairies have on our economy and gives us a forum to show our appreciation to them for the investments that they have made in our region. We are very pleased to have this opportunity to work with the Mid America Ag Network to get our message out to the dairy industry...western Kansas is open for business!"

The 4th annual Garden City Farm & Ranch Show will be Jan. 26 to 28 at the Finney County Fair Grounds.
