Pratt feeder cattle auction reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., Jan. 27, reported receipts of 3,411 head, compared to 3,354 head, last week and 4,959 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, steers were steady to $2 higher. Heifers were mostly steady, exception feeder heifers from 800 to 850 pounds were $2 to $3 higher. Trade was active, demand good especially for heavier weight feeder cattle. Quality of offerings were average to attractive. Consignments were mostly average to fleshy with average to full weigh-ups. Slaughter cows were $1 to $4 higher. Slaughter bulls were $1 higher. The feeder supply included 69% steers and 31% heifers with 84% over 600 pounds.
