CICA to host Legislative Day Feb. 14

Colorado

Colorado Independent CattleGrowers Association will be meeting with state legislators once again as they host their annual Legislative Day at the Capital, Feb. 14. The day's activities begin in room 0109 at 10:30 a.m.

President Gerald Schreiber of Last Chance, Colo., will open discourse by introducing Totsy Rees, the CICA lobbyist. Rees plans to enlighten participants with a breakdown of the day-to-day operations at the Capital.

Rees will also introduce legislators to the CICA membership for informal discussion as their schedules allow. Members will be afforded valuable time in which to explain to state legislators the issues they face, sharing their perspective and opinions.

Plans for the afternoon include a Private Property Rights presentation by Chuck and Roni Sylvester of La Salle, Colo at 1 p.m. They will also take time to discuss their experience in dealing with federal agencies.

Schreiber encourages all members to take advantage of this chance to meet with Colorado state legislators and discuss the concerns with which cattle growers contend.

CICA is a grassroots driven group that strives to protect and promote private enterprise for cattle growers statewide.
