Miles of Smiles program seeks volunteers

Kansas

Volunteers are needed to help with our spring 2012 lessons.

Miles of Smiles provides recreational horsemanship lessons for people with mental, physical, and emotional disabilities--and it's more than a pony ride.

New volunteers must attend a training/informational meeting on March 3 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Training will be held at Miles Of Smiles, 901 West Maple, Garden City (1/2 mile west of Main and Maple).

Lessons will run for six weeks, starting March 24 and running through May 1. They will be held on Monday and Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Volunteers choose the times and days they want.

Experience with horses and/or disabilities is not necessary. Volunteers need to be at least 14 years of age or accompanied by an adult. A minimum of 1 hour of your time per week is all we are asking for.

Please come join us, or call 620-260-9997 or 620-271-4925. Visit www.miles-of-smiles.org for more information.
